【113年8月12日，台北訊】全球膽固醇液晶技術領導者虹彩光電宣布，與美國液晶顯示技術大廠KDI（Kent Display Inc.）及溢洋光電（Ebulent Technologies Corp.）共同簽署策略聯盟協議，未來三方除了將於美國成立合資公司外，也將針對技術開發、商業合作、資源整合、智權佈局等多項策略性目標，積極展開一連串密切且具前瞻性之深度合作，並將以膽固醇液晶技術連結各項應用場域，透過各自的優勢與資源，進一步擴大產品在全球的版圖與市場規模。另一方面，虹彩光電廖奇璋董事長也於簽約儀式中宣布，虹彩光電成功開發出「27.6吋戶外全彩廣告顯示螢幕」的規格升級版本，相較於今年4月Touch Taiwan展會中亮相的產品，對比度提升2倍、色彩飽和度亦提升近50%。
KDI身為膽固醇液晶技術的創始者，長期挹注大量資源在液晶材料開發、顯示驅動、電子工程及各種先進技術上，於產業中樹立不可動搖之領導地位。此外，KDI自身除擁有多元且廣泛之銷售網絡，其經營多年之膽固醇液晶手寫板產品「Boogie Board」更已使其在全球市場享有極高之評價與品牌知名度。虹彩光電廖奇璋董事長表示：「虹彩光電與KDI公司長期保持緊密的技術合作關係，此次策略結盟與設立合資公司是象徵雙方深化合作的重要里程碑，將能夠助力虹彩光電加速佈局全球市場。」
於美國時間9日舉行的簽約儀式中，由KDI現任執行長阿薩德‧罕（Dr. Asad Khan）作為簽約代表，而聞名全球的液晶技術巨擘、KDI共同創辦人威廉‧杜恩博士（Dr. William Doane）則親臨見證此歷史性一刻，他表示：「很高興看到虹彩光電能夠將膽固醇液晶技術發揚光大，並做到淋漓盡致、推出多元產品組合。期盼雙方未來能在技術上相互支援、專利資源上互通有無，以及共享供應鏈整合所帶來的綜效，同時在堅實的技術基礎上，將彼此推升至更前瞻、更領先的的藍海場域，為引領電子紙生態系統做出貢獻。」
